Playing Catch-Up

2/27/12

I’ve officially been home from Vegas and WPPI for three full days, now, but I’m still processing all that I learned, and what I want to say about it. So, while my recap post isn’t yet ready, I’ve missed blogging for the past week, so I knew I needed to put SOMETHING up, today.

It’s been a full weekend, since getting back. Aaron and I hosted an Oscar party last night (complete with cocktail attire & filling-out-ballot requirements) and he tied for first place (I won, last year!). We’re geeks like that. We had also seen almost all of the nominated films, and still plan to see most of the others that we missed (I’m still debating if I can handle Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, though…). And then, sadly, we had to get up realllly early this morning for me to take him to the airport, because he’s spending the next few days in Washington for work. I hate it when one of us just gets back home, and then the other one has to leave shortly after. Not cool when our schedules don’t mesh more successfully.

(Were we Red-Carpet ready, or what?)

But! I’m grateful for a lazy-ish Monday to catch-up on emails, blogging, and mental processing from WPPI. So, stay tuned….a recap post WILL happen later this week. :) For now, I’m going to drink some more coffee, and go through my notes and make an official “to-do” list.

Meanwhile, I’d love to know if any of YOU watched the Oscars last night, and what you thought! I was rooting for The Artist all along (and not just because people keep telling me the leading lady is my twin), but definitely guessed some of the acting nominations incorrectly. What was your favorite Oscar moment? Did your favorite movie/actors win?

    Fave moment: SCORSESE!!

So funny! Okay for real my favourite moment was Meryl Streep’s win/acceptance speech. That woman is AMAZING!

Can’t wait to read your WPPI recap!

  2. You two are adorable! Haha — Red Carpet ready, definitely! :)

  3. Kathryn says:

I loved when Octavia Spencer (who played the outspoken maid Minny Jackson in “The Help”) accepted her Best Supporting Actress award. She seemed genuinely surprised and honored and very humble about it all. It was her turn, and the entire audience gave her a standing-O. Wonderful moment!

You seriously could be the twin of the woman in The Artist! That’s crazy. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but after all the acclaim at the Oscars, I definitely want to. You two look fantastic! (:
