Sibling Time

3/16/12

So, as I mentioned a time or two, my siblings were in town visiting from last Wednesday to this Wednesday for my brother’s Spring Break, and it was SO NICE to get time to hang out with both of them! It was kind of like old times, and yet, in some ways so much better. I think because we’re all adults now and living in different places it makes the time we get together that much more special. Don’t get me wrong, I wish time together WASN’T fewer and farther between than it used to be, but since it IS, I just think I appreciate it all the more when it happens.

Though I failed to take pictures for most of the visit, on Tuesday (our last day to hang out) I managed to grab some that I thought would make for a great end-of-the-week post.

Asher wanted to visit some local coffee shops while he was here, so I took them to Lamplighter, one of my favorites. (Though he said it was too hipster for him….haha)

These two REALLY like their phones….

But he got all upset when Aimee & I tried to “Instagram” him. (Newsflash: I don’t even HAVE Instagram, as I don’t have an iPhone – yet – but he was still hating on my ACTUAL camera, as you can tell…)

Oh, look! I was there, too.

Also, my nails are currently mint green…which I’m rather loving. (Yay Spring!)

We left the coffee shop and headed to Charlottesville for dinner and a concert (because there happened to be a band we all three grew up listening to doing a show that night!). Dinner was at The Local, which came highly recommended by a friend, and definitely wasn’t a disappointment!

It was a GORGEOUS day out, so we sat on the balcony, which was awesome.

On the way back to the car, we came across this. I mean, who WOULDN’T want to work with a graphic design place whose mailbox looks THIS good?

Asher got impatient while we photographed.

We ended the night listening to the 77’s (like I said, a band we grew up listening to) who were doing a 25th-anniversary re-release of one of our favorite albums. So, we got to hear lots of our favorite songs. Plus, Mike (leader singer) has become a friend over the years and it was fun to chat with him for a while afterwards.

It was a great, great week with two of my favorite people in the world. :) Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Happy Friday!

Great post! I don’t have an iPhone either (Android user here) and I feel like I’m really missing out without Instagram.

Also, you are freaking adorable in those photos with your iced drink. Love your curly hair and your mint green nail polish! <3
