Wardrobe Wednesday | Pink & Red

4/04/12

Today’s look is probably the most out of the norm for me. But when I first saw this inspiration photo, I LOVED the salmon-pink color mixed with the red, and knew I had to try to come up with an outfit inspired by this look.

(Inspiration photo source. All other photos taken by Lauryn Galloway, edited by me.)

I pulled a little switch-a-roo, since I happened to have salmon color heels, and red pants (and not vice-versa), but I think the effect is still very similar. I like the combination of the loose button down and the structured jacket.

This outfit seemed cut out for a little “bling”, so I added the hair piece and ring.

Normally I would be intimidated by a ring this big, actually, but when it was given to me by a good friend as a bridesmaid gift I figured I should give it a shot. And when I was putting together this outfit, it coordinated so perfectly that I just couldn’t leave it out. So, push yourself and take risks! The worst that can happen is you decide you didn’t love it and won’t wear it again, but on the flip side, you MIGHT just discover a new favorite look or accessorie by being brave and giving something a try. :)

Jacket: H&M, hand-me-down from a friend | Red Pants: Old Navy, $25 | Shirt: Thrift Store, $3 | Shoes: Payless, $7 | Hair piece: H&M, $6 | Ring: Gift from friend

So what do you think of this bold color combination? Are you a fan of the peachy pink mixed with bright red? Also, what’s a look that YOU’VE tried that pushed you a little outside of your norm, that you ended up loving? I’d love to hear your stories!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! :)

Oh Tori, this look is just adorable. I really like it! I don’t really have an fashion sense [and that’s not false modesty- it’s the unfortunate truth] so I really enjoy reading these posts! I almost feel ready to take on a store like H&M…

You look amazing…my fashion style could be labeled as “tired, comfy mom” so when I see a look like yours I feel instant inspiration! I would have never thought to put salmon pink and bright red together but it looks great broken up with the grey jacket!!! you are beautiful!

  7. Can I just steal your closet AND fashion sense? I mean, for real, girl! so cute. :)

i think that it’s safe to say that from now on my comment on liking your outfits will be implied. the ring is great. and i really like the bold colors. it’s crazy, but crazy is fun. i think that the jacket is what really makes it all work.
