Insp-hair-ation

6/18/12

Oh yes, I DID just do a cheesy title like that. And I’ll own it proudly! What is life if not a little cheesy, sometimes?? ;) See, I’m currently in need of a hair cut, and I’m revisiting some of my favorite inspiration photos to see if it’s time to change it up a bit. And, of course, I’m always curious to get YOUR thoughts and feedback. :) Let’s start with my original hair inspiration from 2007, when on a whim I cut bangs for the first time….after watching Jennifer Gray in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It’s like a lightbulb went off and I thought, “If she can do bangs with curly hair…..so can I!”

I’ve kept bangs ever since that night, and I plan to continue on with that. I feel like my face is most flattered when framed with the shorter curls in the front. So, growing them out isn’t really on the table as an option, right now. But, I feel like it might be time for a change in the layers and overall shape. These are close to what I currently have going on, I think. Just above the shoulders, but still below the chin, only with a slightly longer angle in the front.

So what I’m considering is maybe switching up the angle….slightly longer in the back, and more layered up around the face. Something along these lines….

OR, I can stick with the bobbed angle, but just take it shorter (to the chin or above) like these…

(Photos from Google & Pinterest when searching Jennifer Gray, St. Vincent & The Artist)

So what do you think?? Does either look stick out more than the other? I know at some point I may want to go back to longer hair, but for now I’m definitely still loving the ease of having it shorter and bouncier, and would just love a little “reboot” for the rest of the summer. So, help an indecisive curly-girl and leave your thoughts below! :)

  1. The girl in the last set totally looks like you! I say go for that one! (Although I do like the layered-around-the-face look, too!)

Definitely the last series of pictures. I love my hair short and bouncy—super easy upkeep and short in the summer. I think it would look fabulous on you!

  3. I think any of the cuts would look great on you, lady! In fact…I had to do a double take because some of the photos actually looked like you! :)

I think #6 would be a keeper.. I just love the volume of it.

I’m hoping to get my hair cut like this tomorrow… http://pinterest.com/pin/1407443604012617/
