Officially introducing: Cooper & Penny!

6/14/12

Dear blog friends, I realized something very tragic the other day. You know what it was? I HAVEN’T PROPERLY INTRODUCED YOU TO OUR KITTIES, YET!!! Considering we’ve had them for a few weeks, now, I find this incredibly unacceptable and, quite frankly, don’t even know how it’s happened! (As a brief refresher, getting a kitten was part of Aaron’s birthday gift to me back in April, but we weren’t able to get them until the end of May, due to traveling commitments.) So, without any FURTHER ado….please meet Cooper & Penny!

Cooper is the older of the two kitties by 2 weeks. He’s a long-haired fluff ball and has quite the sense of adventure (and a dash of clumsiness) and thus provides much entertainment for Aaron and I, daily. He also gets in trouble more often for going places he shouldn’t…. but, he’s rather snuggly when he gets sleepy, and instead of curling up to nap, he usually loves to sprawl out. Especially if he thinks it might result in you rubbing his tummy.

And this pretty little girl is Penny. She’s hilariously playful and never seems to tire of attempting to capture her own tail. While she gets bested by Cooper many-a-time because he’s bigger, she has no trouble picking fights with him just the same and giving it her all. She’s super snuggly and loves to be on a lap of just about any kind whenever possible. She’s the talker of the two and lets you know when she’s feeling neglected.

The two of them have brought us so much joy just in these few weeks, and I love having some company when I sit and edit or write blog posts. I love seeing them snuggle and play together – I’m SO glad we decided to get two, instead of just one. They’re such buddies.

So, here’s to furry little friends! I hope you feel properly acquainted with our fluffy little dears, now. :) (And here are the first few days of them being with us, as documented through Instagram)

Any other cat/pet owners….give a shout out! This is the first time I’ve ever had indoor pets, so it’s fun new territory, for sure. :) HAPPY THURSDAY, friends!

My two kitties are now 11 and 12 years old respectively. They are still my great joy. Your little kitties are so adorable.

I verbally omg’ed my way through this entire post. I love them, they are so cute, CATS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I love them! It’s so hard not to “squee” out loud when I look at adorable kitten pictures. It’s also very hard not to go out and grab another for myself right away. We’re thinking about a companion kitty for our current cat – she just seems a mite lonely sometimes. Two is definitely better than one.
