Handmade Happiness | Relinked Relics Vintage Jewelry

12/07/12

It’s time for our third give-away, folks! And I’m suuuuper excited about it. If you love vintage things and jewelry, this give-away is a match made in heaven just for YOU!

Tell us your names, and three of your favorite things:

We’re sisters, Kathy Lareau (left) and Irene Hitchcock (right). Kathy enjoys family, Relinked Relics and snowy days. Irene likes family, curling up with a glass of wine and good conversation, and a good book.

What initially inspired you to start your shop?

Relinked Relics was envisioned by two sisters, bonded because of a desire to create beauty adorned with nostalgia.  Our journey began in the early years as we discovered a shared love for perusing antique shops and remote roadside sales.  We also share a love of all things “handcrafted”.  These interests were influenced by our mother who had hobbies and crafts too numerous to mention.  Our first lessons began at age 8 on the sewing machine.  She instilled the joy and pride of creating with our own hands, a gift that remains with us today.

This dangerous and costly passion (as our husbands refer to it) led to an extensive collection of timeless treasures, which began bursting out of closets begging for a new life.  We have spent the last few years designing and creating jewelry that captures and preserves the past. Each piece is uniquely and carefully crafted, repurposing our vintage and antique treasures.

You may be a kindred spirit with treasured keepsakes of your own. If so, we would be delighted to work with you, and your personal treasures, to recapture and restore your past, telling stories of love, laughter and life.

What’s your favorite thing to create?

We enjoy the entire process of creating each piece from hunting, designing, researching, linking and of course the completion.

Be sure to check out their shop (ANY of their pieces would make for an amazing Christmas gift) and, of course, enter the give-away! They have so many gorgeous pieces. Irene is a longtime family friend of Aaron’s, so I was lucky enough to be gifted a necklace last year from my mother-in-law and I LOVE it. It’s one of my favorite items of jewelry. So, enter away and spread the word! :) Huge thanks, again, to Kathy and Irene for offering such a fantastic prize!
