Of Dining Room Chairs

7/31/13

Now that we’ve owned our home for a couple months, we’re starting to work bit-by-bit on making it feel like “us”. Granted, even finding what is “us” can be difficult when you and your spouse have different tastes…. But, that’s a different topic for a different day. ;) We DID recently agree on these antique chairs that I found on Craigslist as our end chairs for the dining room table. I knew I wanted upholstered chairs, and nothing I was finding in modern styles was quite cutting it for me. So, I loved the shape of these and the potential they have for customization!

These photos that I found on Pinterest have served as my main inspiration for the dining room chairs. I want to paint the frames of these two white, and then we will have them reupholstered in a fun fabric. For the rest of the chairs on the sides of the table, I’m collecting wood chairs one-by-one that I will paint all the same color. So, they will be mis-matched, but look unified. I knew that a “formal” dining room wasn’t the right look for Aaron and I, so I think these eclectic elements will help it feel fun, while still (hopefully) achieving a put together look.

This is the wall color we’re planning to do, and these are some of the fabrics I’m trying to talk Aaron into we’re considering….but we’re definitely still shopping around to gather as many options as possible.

Just thought I’d give a fun little house update. I’ll definitely post pictures when the chairs are officially done, too. But sometimes I enjoy seeing the process behind a project as much as the completed ones, themselves. Hope everyone is having a happy Wednesday!

  1. Love those fabrics and that color! Can’t wait to see the room all painted! :)

  2. Janet says:

Love those chairs! What’s that top right fabric? I absolutely love it.

  3. loooove Paladian Blue!! Haha. I’ve become such a BM color geek since I began shooting real estate! I love the idea of mismatched chairs in the same color with same fabric. Brilliant. And my fav fabric is the bottom left.

  4. You choice is really great. The combination of the chairs with all the other interiors looks really great.
