I love being able to make dresses more versatile by adding something over them. Oftentimes we only think that cardigans or blazers work for that, but regular sweaters can also work great with certain kinds of dresses, as today’s inspiration and outfit show. I love the cable knit sweater from the original photo, but I chose to add a little more pattern to my look by pairing a floral sweater with the polka dot dress. This is an outfit I’ve worn several times and I just really love the mixed patterns and color tones.

Would you try a sweater over a dress? I think it takes the right combination, but I’m a huge fan of this look and will definitely be trying some of my other sweaters with this dress to create more versions of this outfit.
