Whew, it’s already almost 2 weeks into August and I’ve barely had a chance to sit down and even THINK about writing my goals for the month. The Olympics are now over, vacation is coming to end (as Aaron and I fly back home to Richmond tonight) and my sister has been married for a WEEK, now! It’s insanity, I tell you. But it’s been a beautiful month, so far, and full of SO much wonderful family time. So, late though it is, here’s a little recap on July, and what I’m aiming at for the rest of August!
July was filled with fun jewelry, my first purchase of wedge sandals, Cooper trying to taste Guinness, quality time with photographer friends, new books purchased and begun, happy flowers, crazy storms, friends getting married, Independence Day celebrations, and pretty/crafty projects.
July goals ended up looking as follows:
PERSONAL
– Workout 3-4 times a week
– Drink at least 3 glasses of water a day
– Try 2 new recipes
– Write at least 2 letters
– Skype with 2 far-away friends
– Start reading Wuthering Heights
– Work on/accomplish a DIY project
– Look for (& potentially purchase) patio furniture
– Edit/post Mexico photos
– Make place cards for Aimee’s wedding
BUSINESS
– Submit 2-3 weddings/shoots for publication (I didn’t get 2-3 submitted, but I got one, at least!)
– Sort ALL receipts for 2012, thus far
– Establish a business budget plan (I began this process…)
– Write a concise “mission statement”
– Better customize SmugMug
– Brainstorm new client gift ideas
– Hang up some photos in the office
– Start designing 2nd Sample Album
– Design +Site style group
Ouch, I didn’t get nearly as much done on my business goal list as I would have liked. But, sometimes I get so busy just keeping up with the day-to-day that the other things fall to wayside. But, alas, here’s to trying it this month! So, for August:
PERSONAL
– Workout 3-4 times a week
– Drink at least 3 glasses of water a day
– Write at least 2 letters
– Skype with 2 far-away friends
– Work on photobook
– Keep reading Wuthering Heights
– Edit/post Mexico photos
– Finish editing photos for Dad
– Edit/post Florida photos
BUSINESS
– Edit 3 weddings
– Continue practicing with off-camera flash
– Submit 2-3 weddings/shoots for publication
– Sort ALL receipts for 2012, thus far (!)
– Establish a business budget plan (!)
– Write a concise “mission statement” (!)
– Hang up some photos in the office
– Start designing 2nd Sample Album
I know I don’t have a whole month to work on all of that, but hopefully I can still get a lot of it done! Here’s to a busy, full, happy August!
