I’ve been able to spend the past week with my parents (first in Virginia, and now in Indiana), and have gotten to see a lot of other family and friends – and it’s not over, yet! I still have a few more days before I fly back home, and I’ve been so grateful for this time. While I’ll post more photos and details about it later on, today I’m just continuing to soak in some of the many things I’m thankful for right now.
Things like the Indiana flatlands and pretty sunsets. Lots of quality chats over coffee. Time with my grandparents. Warmer-than-usual Autumn days. Friends you can pick right back up with, no matter how long it’s been since you’ve talked. Movie-going with my Dad. Classic-movies with my Mom. Pumpkin cookies. Old memories in treasured photographs. Quality time in favorite places. Introducing my parents to new music. Seeing the original kitties of my heart, Capers & Motor. Rediscovering amazing clothes in my closet.
Mostly, the reminder that life is precious and time is valuable, and neither are guaranteed tomorrow. I want to enjoy them to the fullest and not take them for granted.
Here’s to cultivating an ever-growing grateful heart…
I just got back from Indiana! It’s funny how you fall in love with a state because of the people who are in it.
