Happy day-after-Christmas, everyone! I hope all of you had a WONDERFUL day with family! Our celebration still continues today as we’ll be heading to my Grandma’s house this afternoon for time with grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. And, of course, there will be more good food!
But, I couldn’t let the day go by without posting this week’s outfit! So, while my outfit is a pretty loose take on the inspiration photo, it’s the leather jacket and the general color scheme that inspired me to put together a similar look, even with totally different types of pieces. And that’s what I love about this whole concept – you don’t have to replicate a look. You can still be inspired to try something you wouldn’t have thought of, but come up with your OWN version.

The best part about this coat is that I got it for FREE years ago from an amazing rummage sale, but then totally forgot about it when I got married and moved to Richmond, and only rediscovered it this Fall when I was visiting my parents. So, it was a definite score because it’s a real leather jacket in great shape, and I’m SO happy to have it back in my wardrobe!
Jacket: Thrifted, FREE | Skirt: Given to me from a friend | Boots: Given to me from my Mom | Scarf: Was my Grandma’s | Earrings: Old Navy, $7
Though I didn’t have a maxi skirt to accomplish this look, I love the way it came out with the more structured pencil skirt and it’s definitely a perfect cute, casual, on-the-go outfit for the cold weather season. Do you have a statement jacket that you love? What’s one of the most amazing deals you’ve gotten on a favorite clothing item??
