Blue is one of those colors that, for some reason, I’ve not been super drawn to until recently. It’s a great color for my hair/skin tones/eye color, but it just wasn’t ever a favorite. However, several months ago my sister found this royal blue vintage dress at a rummage sale and decided she would never wear it, so she gave it to me. I wasn’t really sure how I would wear it, but one doesn’t just pass up a cool vintage dress that has potential! So, I was thrilled when I saw this inspiration photo from Kendi Everyday of a solid blue mixed with the gray and brown accents, and ta-da! I had the perfect way to wear my blue dress.

Dress: Gifted from my sister | Boots: Hand-me-down from my Mom | Belt: Thrifted, $3 | Ring: Was my Grandma’s | Earrings: Some place like Charlotte Russe, $8
Do you ever come across an item of clothing that you know will make for a great outfit, even if you don’t know HOW you will wear it, yet? Sometimes you just gotta take the risk and add it to your wardrobe and know that the perfect inspiration will come! (Granted, I don’t encourage that thought process on expensive items….but free or cheap, definitely! :)
I know I’ve probably said this a lot before, but I LOVE these posts! I have absolutely NO fashion intuition- everything I put together is from watching other people put together outfits. So I’m really, really glad you do these posts!
Thanks, Abby! I’m so glad you enjoy them. :) I have a lot of fun with this series!
