YOU GUYS. How can it already be May?! This year is going to be half over before we even know it! Totally crazy. But April was a really great month, with some pretty momentous happenings! Such as my sister-in-law getting married, turning 27, buying our first house, shooting a handful of engagement sessions, National Sibling Day, my brother getting engaged, finding an awesome vintage chair on Craigslist, discovering the perfect perfume, lots of packing, unpacking, and moving into the new house! I mean, I’d say that’s a pretty awesome list to pack into one month!
Here’s a look back on April goals:
PERSONAL
– Purge belongings & get rid of, before moving (just need to actually take the bags where they belong!)
– Really finish The Hole In Our Holiness (sooo close!)
– Keep drinking water & working out 2-3 times/week (the working out dropped off when the craziness of packing and moving started….)
– Try 2-3 new recipes
– Pack for the move!
– Pick paint samples
BUSINESS
– Finish last 2.5 album designs (just one more to go!)
– Try out Photo Mechanic
– Submit 3 shoots/weddings (I really need to get better at staying on top of this)
– Finish compiling monthly task list & set day for doing it
– Host birthday blog give-away!
Life is pretttty full this month, too. So here’s hoping I can get all of this accomplished, but we shall see!
PERSONAL
– Buy yoga mat & get back to working out 2-3 times per week
– Write to my grandparents
– Skype with one or two friends
– FINISH the Hole in our Holiness and start new book
– Get house fully unpacked
– Work on picking paint colors
BUSINESS
– Get everything for office out of boxes
– Order rug & loveseat for office
– Finish album designs
– Edit 2 weddings
– Finalize list for “duty day”
– Submit 1 wedding
– Shoot at TeenPact National Convention
– Finally buy iMac!
Really excited for the things that May holds! It’s going to be fun to go to TeenPact National Convention again, as well as shoot a couple more weddings and engagement sessions and hopefully really get caught up on a few of those things that have been on my list for the last couple months. Here’s to a productive month! :)
Happy May, everyone!
Tori, was it you that asked people what day they picked for their “duty day” since bank records, etc. weren’t always received in order to do it at the beginning of the month? If so, here’s what I finally figured out for myself! My credit card bill gets to me the middle of the month, so I picked the last Monday to do everything for the month before. So far it’s working out great! I have all the right papers to be able to do everything, and it’s not too far out where I’ve forgotten things!
Thanks, Lydia! That’s really helpful! On that last Monday, are you also doing prep stuff (like sending out invoices or client gifts/packages/etc) for the NEXT month, or do you JUST focus on the previous month?
