Aaron and I just got home last night from being in Indiana for the weekend. It’s rare that we’re able to both make it out there aside from the holiday season, but it was family reunion time with my Grandma’s side of the family (my Dad’s aunts/uncles/first cousins). Normally that would probably seem like really extended family – my Great Aunts and Uncles, my First Cousins once-removed and second cousins, etc. But, I had the privilege of seeing all of these family members every Thanksgiving growing up (through 2009) and have greatly missed them all over the last few years. They come from Ohio, Michigan and all the way down in South Carolina – so it’s hard to find time, and locations, that allow us all to see each other. And while not everyone can make it each time (this year was the first time I’ve been able to go since getting married, and the first time many of them have even met Aaron) it’s great to get time with as many as possible.
I asked Marvin (the brother-in-law) to take a picture of me and Aimee together and it somehow turned into a mini photoshoot with him trying to prove his artistic skills to me. ;)
Grandpa joined the photo-fun and attempted to “bring the drama”. Haha.
My cousins have some pretty cuuuute kids – even if I can’t get them to smile at me. ;)
We’re a pretty lively bunch, and I feel like this photo says it all.
I mean, seriously. How cute is she?! At least I finally got ONE adorable smile. :)
It really was a wonderful weekend, and I’m so grateful for the blessing of family. Also grateful to be done with 12-hour roadtrips for a while….haha. Happy Monday, everyone!
