I’m so excited to share this fun styled shoot that I put together with several other Richmond vendors this past November. I had the idea one day to do a shoot loosely based off of a musical (since I love them so much), but I didn’t want to do an imitation and end up with something kitschy. But when I thought of West Side Story I knew we could pull a lot of iconic elements from it to serve as fun inspiration for a cool shoot. Think brick, iron, reds and yellows, a 1960’s vibe, and of course some “dancing” shots. We took that inspiration and ran with it on a beautiful Fall day, and I think the results turned out great. Not to mention, florals from Janie Medley and super cool pieces from Paisley & Jade really set the tone. We’re all thrilled that it was featured over on Ruffled, yesterday! They’re one of my very favorite blogs, so click on over to see their post and then scroll through all of my favorites, below!
The paper goods from Dear June were so pretty, and Leslee (from Dear June) and Morgan (from Paisley & Jade) helped style the table and details perfectly.
And how sweet are our models Mandie & Eric? They’re a cute couple that goes to my church, and I instantly thought of them when we started brainstorming for this shoot. Mandie rocks this beautiful Ivy & Aster dress (from Bella Bridesmaid), and did a lovely job on her own hair & make-up.
Leslee and Morgan did a beautiful job decorating this delicious little cake from Candy Valley Cakes (and the bonus was we got to eat it after the shoot ;).
Isn’t it so fun? We definitely enjoyed ourselves, and it’s always so great to come together with other creatives to put together a shoot simply for fun and inspiration. Thanks again to each of the vendors who partnered together to make it happen, and to Ruffled for putting together a stunning feature!
