Thrilled to bring you another guest post this week, and particularly to be showing off my wonderful friend and the always fabulously-dressed Janie Medley of JM Flora Design and The Bride’s Cafe! If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ve seen many collaborations between the two of us and I’ve just loved getting to know this amazing woman over the last few years. She’s such a delight to be around, and is talented not only at floral design, but at style, home decor, and just about anything else crafty you can think of! So, read on to get to know her a little better and find out more about her style inspiration!
How would you define your personal style?
Classic and refined. I always choose pieces that will look good “years” from now. For example, I love buying skirts where I can pair different tops with them each year to create a new look and style.
Where do you find most of your style inspiration?
People watching…”street style”! And of course fashion magazines and I have my favorite fashion blogs that I follow! And from my mom, she was such a stylish lady. I remember always going through her closet checking out her clothes..she was so cool!
What are your top 3 favorite places to shop?
Only 3?? J.Crew, ASOS, Zara, Banana Republic
If you had to choose ONE favorite item currently in your wardrobe, whatwould it be and why?
I just purchased a blue swing coat from ASOS. I LOVE it. I’m a huge coat fan, but I don’t like bulky coats. This coat is so perfect, it’s timeless and the fit is perfect. It’s the perfect coat to wear with my skirts and dresses and totally cool to wear with jeans and sneakers. Of course, I have added a flower pin to make it “my style”!
Top: Banana Republic | Skirt: ASOS | Shoes: Nine West | Bracelet: My Mom’s | Rings: Banana Republic | Clutch: Aldo
Isn’t she one classy lady?? Be sure to keep up with her for all kinds of floral prettiness on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook!
Looking good Janie!
