If you haven’t figured out by now, I’m a huge fan of cute outfits that are also easy and comfortable. So, the whole trend of jersey knit and cotton dresses that are loose and stretchy is basically the best thing ever. I absolutely adore the dress in this week’s inspiration, and while I don’t have something just like it, it inspired me to try this dress I bought while I was pregnant – not maternity, but a size bigger than I normally wear – to see if I could make it work for my body, now. I would have never thought to just belt it and pull some excess fabric up overtop, but for some reason this photo gave me the idea to try in order to achieve that loose, comfy, casual feel. And now I really like it! You just gotta be willing to think outside the box when looking through your closet.

I love pattern and texture mixing, and wearing a subtly patterned tight with a striped dress is a really fun way to do that! It’s not in-your-face, but it still adds some visual interest to the outfit.

So this is what I looked like last time I wore this dress. A little different. Hah! But It’s turned out to be a pretty versatile item and I love that!
