Summer weather is FINALLY here (now that hopefully the rain is done for a little while) and maxi dresses are one of my staple pieces for the hot months. They’re easy, comfy and can usually be dressed up OR down quite easily. I’d been on the search for some good maxi dress/skirt inspiration, so I was extra excited when the folks over at Tobi reached out to me for a blog collaboration and offered to send me a few items to try. I immediately spotted this gray and black maxi dress and loved the layered look, as well as how soft it seemed (and it totally is)! It went perfect with this inspiration photo I’d pinned, and a new Wardrobe Wednesday look was born!

This is my first time ever being sent clothes to try out for the purpose of blogging about them, and it’s pretty exciting! But of course I would never want to share something stylistically that isn’t authentic to me. While there are plenty of items offered by Tobi that I wouldn’t wear, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the amount I really liked, AND the super reasonable price ranges. You can find this dress, as well as lots of other cute dresses, over on their site (also thought there were several cute high waisted shorts and high waisted jeans which can be hard to find)! Also, first time shoppers get 50% off your entire first order! Kiiiind of awesome.

Fun fact about this necklace: I’ve had it for many many years, and it’s not supposed to be worn this way. It’s actually kind of a several layer almost statement type necklace. But the clasp broke and for some reason I never got rid of it. When I put on this dress I had the random inspiration to put it on and hook it this way, and surprisingly I really liked it! So hey, you never know when new ideas for accessorizing will strike. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box when looking at the stuff you already have! :)
