I’ve been behind on blogging and most of life since having Leighton, but I really wanted to blog this year’s Christmas decor because (for my own sake) I love looking back on the different things I did each year. So, just in the knick of time….here is this year’s! Very inspired (as always) by vintage items, thrifted things, some DIY’s, mixed textures and lots of earthy tones. :)
Love how the mantel came together. I used this thrifted art piece that I put in a new frame, mixed candlesticks that are a combo of brass I already had and wooden ones from Shop A Daily Something, Shop Anderson Manor and Wicker & Woods. The glass coche is also from Shop Anderson Manor and I love these tiny cute trees that I snagged on major clearance last year after Christmas. The “good tidings of great joy” is a custom lettered print I got from my friend Rose Lettering Co. and I really love how it brings a little modern touch to the overall vintage vibe. I also made us all matching stocking letters to bring some cohesion to our mismatched-but-coordinating stockings.
The little display below are thrifted frames (the large one I spray painted gold), a thrifted wooden vase, foraged berries + free Christmas tree clippings, little brass angels from Midwest Vintage and a vintage radio that was my great grandfathers.
How cute is my District Loom tiny rug in front of the Christmas tree?? I love the added style it gives to the tree and gifts. Also loving more of the mixed metal candle holders and the mixed candle sticks – all of which were thrifted except the white ones. It’s been so fun to eat dinner by candlelight a few times and while it’s not a traditional advent wreath, it has also kind of acted as that and I’ve really enjoyed it.
I LOVE the addition of Leighton’s new ornaments on the tree this year. The embroidery hoop name one, and the sweet little horse from my dear friend Maryfrances Carter. Also had fun making these brown paper bag star/snowflakes!
And how about the perfect winter print of the little snowy cabin that I snagged from Wld Wst for my gallery wall (seen below)??
And, of course, I had to add a little festivity to the kids’ room, too. Reused some mini trees I made/bought from the past few years and then added the adorable wicker sleigh also from Shop A Daily Something. Fun, festive and matches the other decor in their room.
And, of course, the greatest gift of 2020 by FAR is our sweet Leighton Oswald who just turned 4 months old! We love our little winter gnome and am so grateful to have a cozy home to enjoy this holiday even in such a weird year.
Merry Christmas, friends!
