It’s a rather gloomy, rainy day here in Richmond today, so this bright and cheerful outfit is the perfect installment to bring some Spring happiness to your day. While the original inspiration is a much more subtle and neutral color combination, the structure and proportions are very similar, and thus what I focused on when creating my outfit.

I’m sure you all think I’m just obsessed with yellow, by now. But the funny thing is, I didn’t PLAN to have it in so many of my outfits. I just have it sprinkled throughout my entire wardrobe, and it IS such a favorite that it ends up being in so many of my favorite looks. (Plus, lets be honest, it looks great on the blog!) But, I apologize if you’re sick of seeing it….haha.
This skirt is a definite favorite, but because it’s so gathered around the waist, it can look bulky if not paired with something that brings definition to the wast. That’s why I love the way the structured blouse and belt still draw the eye to a narrow waist, and then the extra “poof” around the hips isn’t unflattering. :)

As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this look, and mostly, I hope you have a Happy (even if gloomy) Wednesday! :)
