Christmastime is Here!

11/26/12

Thanksgiving is officially over, and Christmastime is commencing. And while my Facebook and Instagram feeds have been flooooded with folks who already have their Christmas tree and decor up, I sit in Florida still, 12 hours from home where I (obviously) haven’t even begun to sort through decor and start putting it up. We’re still here for good reason, though, as Aaron’s brother and his wife are at the hospital today and about to deliver us a new nephew! So, we couldn’t head home before we got to meet him. :) But alas, there’s still much waiting to be done, so I figured I could at least gather my favorite ideas from the good ol’ trusted Pinterest so that I’m ready with a plan of action to decorate when we get home! Sadly, like last year, we don’t really have space for an actual tree, so I’m looking for ways to make our little living space festive, even in the absence of a tree (sad, I know). Thus, here’s what I’m looking at….

1) I love these cardboard mini Christmas trees! And that you can do them in any colors to match your home. Definitely thinking about a craft day in the near future….
2) Simple, yet festive canvases for over the mantle. Perfect way to make the living room sparkle a little more!
3) Hanging ornaments with ribbon. Simple, easy way to add some color and holiday style, especially to windows.
4) A cute table-top tree display with vintage photos, and I love the book/newspaper wrap around the tree pot. Great alternative to the big tree, since it fits with our space better and is similar to what we did last year.
5) Lights in glass jars. Easy way to incorporate more Christmas lights around the apartment.
6) Ornaments in glass make such a pretty display. I did something similar to that last year on our table, and loved it.

So, even without a tree (which makes me sad not to have) I’m still excited to make our apartment feel cheery for the season! If it comes out looking good, I’ll post some photos when it’s all done. ;) What projects/decor ideas are you incorporating this year? Feel free to post links if you have other great ideas I should consider!

And P.S. in honor of Cyber Monday, if you didn’t enter the second give-away yet, go do so! It’s only live until midtnight TONIGHT!!
