DIY Fall Decor

10/25/13

I’m by no means the greatest DIY-er or best home decorator (still learning a lot in that area) but when I saw this project on Pinterest it made me really want to decorate for Fall. So, I tweaked it a little by using the glittery leaves with string on a canvas instead of as garland. I added in a few mini pumpkins, some dried wheat/flowers, a fun gold frame I recently got at an antique store and two candles I had in other rooms. While I’m not normally a glittery/glitzy person, I definitely think it adds a festive touch to the Fall feeling, and it was fun to try something new.

Please note, we haven’t done anything to change the living room since buying the house. So, eventually the wood will be painted white and the wall color will be changed. But for now, it is what it is. :)

Also added a little of the glittery touch to the dining room.

And, of course, no porch seems quite complete without a few pumpkins. I’ve never gotten pumpkins before, so it was a fun experience to have a porch to finally get to put some on. I love the peachy color of the big ones, especially.

I love Fall so much, and it was definitely a goal to decorate for it this year. So, I feel accomplished that I’ve achieved that and it’s extra fun since some of my family will be coming to our house for Thanksgiving this year. The house will be festive, and that makes me happy. :)

Have you come across any Fall DIY’s that you love? Share them in the comments if you have, because I’m always looking for new and fun inspiration for the different holiday seasons. :)

Have a happy weekend, friends!

LOVE all your little cute pumpkins! Makes me want to stop at the store and buy some on the way home from work today! :-) Also, the chair next to your fireplace is just so lovely – looks like it’s in great condition.
Although it’s not a decoration thing; I love hot drinks and hot soups during fall – and can highly recommend this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/creamy-squash-soup-recipe/index.html

Tori, I’m pretty sure you have the best fireplace in the world! It’s beautiful! And I think the touches of pumpkins, flowers and fall colored things go a long way and really invite fall into your home. :)

  3. Love the glittery decor! It’s beautiful! I need to work on my fall stuff for after Halloween…
