Miscellaneous Monday Post

10/07/13

I have a serious case of the Mondays today. It was a fantastic weekend, and I didn’t shoot a wedding, so you think I’d have come into this week more relaxed and rested….but of course that’s just easier said than done, somehow. My weekend was filled with some happy things, though, and since so many of you gave feedback saying you’d love to see more personal posts on the blog, I thought I’d just share a few highlights this morning.

1) Aaron and I went to a Mad Men themed birthday party on Saturday evening which was so fun. Of course, I’m sure it’s no surprise that I would geek out over a vintage themed party of just about any kind….but especially the 60’s. I borrowed this amazing green vintage dress from my friend Kaytee, and it was definitely a big hit! I think Aaron looked rather dapper (or “Draper”, if you will ;), as well.

2) I discovered the #AddaWordRuinaMovie tweets and there are so many hilarious ones. Some actors/celebrities were even getting in on it! It definitely provided some good weekend entertainment, and you need to check them out if you haven’t already.

3) We FINALLY bought some blinds to hang up in the living and dining rooms! When we bought our house, it didn’t have ANY blinds except for in our bedroom and bathroom. But all of the rest of the living areas were just bare, and we’ve been living that way since the end of April. Not the most convenient/ideal situation, but we had other house expenses so we were just trying to wait until we could buy a good amount of blinds at once. I’m happy the day finally came, even though we pretty much hit stupid bumps in the road from beginning to end of hanging them up. That’s kind of mine and Aaron’s luck when it comes to home project, it seems. But we tend to be victorious in the end, which is what matters! So, yay for blinds!

What were the highlights of your weekend? And what are your best remedies for “Mondays”? I’m off to try to be productive in spite of my slow-moving start to the day, and I wish you all luck for conquering your day, as well!

there is no remedy to mondays. just drink your wait in coffee and rock back and forth in the corner until tuesday. thats pretty much what i do.

  2. The highlight of my weekend was my husband coming back home. Woohoo!! Best remedy for Mondays? Just more coffee. Is there anything else to do?

I did NOT know about #AddaWordRuinaMovie. So thanks for that brilliant chuckle in the middle of my Monday slump. I got quite a laugh out of it.

I must say, you both look rather fetching. I LOVE that dress.

  4. […] that I love some good vintage style inspiration. And when I get to do something like go to Mad Men themed party, it’s pretty much my ideal type of event. But I also totally love just owning some vintage […]
