With the arrival of Spring, a new inspiration has hit to get some of the house projects accomplished that will help round off a lot of the decorating progress we’ve done in this first year of owning our home. (It will be an official year at the end of April – crazy how time flies!) The last two rooms that need to be painted on the first floor (aside from our bedroom) are the bathroom and living room. And I’m SO excited that we’re going to start making progress on that this week! We’re still finalizing what color we want to go with for the walls, but I’m loving the idea of Benjamin Moore Lead Gray or Nocturnal Gray because they’re neutral, but with a great blue/green undertone. We already have a few decorative accents in chartreuse and mustard, so I’d like to incorporate those while anchoring the room with the dark blue-gray on the walls.

I’m also searching for the perfect rug (I love the one in the collage above, but of course it’s out of stock…), hoping to potentially use my great grandfather’s chest that I will be getting as a coffee table or blanket holder, and we’re kicking around the idea of white-washing the brick fireplace. All of these decisions will be dependent on how we feel once the walls and trim are painted in the room, but I’m excited about the possibilities! It’s so fun to begin having your vision for a room come together.
Are any of you planning some facelifts for your home this Spring? If so, where are you drawing your greatest inspiration from? I’d love to see/hear what you’re working on and dreaming about! Yay for home-owning and inspiration-building! :)
Ohhh, I am loving the inspiration! We just bought our home last summer and really need to finish decorating. We draw our inspiration from West Elm, Houzz, and a little Potterybarn/Restoration Hardware. Sounds random, but we are going for traditional/modern. Minimalistic, light colors, and fresh/spa feeling.
Yay!! I love this!! So fun!!
