Wardrobe Wednesday | Cold Shoulder Maternity Style

8/23/17

I may have limited wardrobe items to choose from when pregnant, but I’m always looking for new ways to wear them so they still feel fresh and fun. And one thing I know is that black, white and mustard (or caramel brown) is always a winning combo. So I stumbled across this inspiration photo on Pinterest and decided to run with it in my own direction to come up with a fresh maternity look I’ve been loving!

Inspiration photo via One Little Momma. All others taken by my sister-in-law Melissa, edited by me.

This simple elastic-waisted skirt has been a go-to throughout the pregnancy thus far because it can pair with so many different tops, and sits above the belly so well. But I was getting kind of tired of just regular tank tops and T’s, so I started hunting for an easy top that I could wear with skirts now, and still enjoy post-baby, too. Cue the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  One thing I had never tried before was the cold-shoulder trend – it’s SO in right now, but I just hadn’t ever found the right item, I guess. But when I found this beautiful, simple, comfy top (in my favorite color, no less) for a great price I knew it was the perfect piece to finally give it a try! And it’s still perfectly suited to daytime adventures with a toddler in tow. :)

Totally obsessed with my minimalist brass rings these last few months, as well. The circle one is from Formation Co. and the two stacking rings are from Milovala – all of them super great prices and they’re so comfy to have on.

Skirt: Old Navy via ThredUp, $9 | Shirt: Nordstrom (Anniversary Sale), $18 | Sandals: Target, $20 | Rings Formation Co & Milovala: $12 each | Llewyn’s Outfit: Shorts, Cat & Jack from Target, $8 | Sandals: Salt Water brand via Amazon, $36

It’s not always easy to dress the bump comfortably WHILE feeling cute, especially in the hottest part of Summer when I’m often just super exhausted these days (can I get an amen from any other mamas out there?!). But having some easy go-to’s really makes a difference and is helping me savor these fleeting days of one-on-one time with my sweet boy.

Have you tried the cold-shoulder trend, yet? What is a fun piece you snagged for a great bargain that you’re currently loving? As always, hearing from YOU is the highlight of sharing these posts from my end. I hope they bring you ideas and inspiration and I love being in this style-chasing journey together!
