Last month I had the fun opportunity to work with ModCloth (who I’ve definitely been a customer of several times over the years) to document the store opening of their super rad DC Fit Shop! It was three days of grand-opening shopping events and I met so many wonderful people and loved working in such a cool style environment. You can also check out the Washingtonian article about the store opening featuring some of my images!
The Fit Shop concept is that they have a curated collection of some of their pieces in store that you can try on in person, check out the way it fits, find out your perfect size, and then the fabulous staff help you order your own actual piece online to have shipped directly to your house for free. It’s a boutique experience and a really cool hybrid concept between a store-front and online business that I wouldn’t be surprised if other companies adopted. It seems to make so much sense from the cost-side of running a business, but still gives customers the chance to touch and feel items, try them on, and have a great shopping experience. Seems like a win win!
Was also fun to meet some DC style bloggers. Check out Dani (Blonde in the District), Saumya (Myriad Musings) and YaYa.
Also love that they have an area in the shop for items made by local artisans that fit with their overall vibe. These candles plus some jewelry items and I believe they will switch out and rotate between multiple vendors as time goes on. Such a great way to support local style!
Such a fun event to shoot! You can keep up with ModCloth on Instagram, as well, for style inspiration and to see what they’re up to!
This event is SUCH A PERFECT FIT for you, and I’m so glad you got the chance to cover it!!!
