Now that baby boy is here – and two weeks old! – I figured I’d better share the final bumpdate photos before I can rightfully blog his nursery or newborn session. So, here we are!
I had certainly hoped not to make it to 41-weeks again (like I did with Llewyn). Margot was 40 weeks + 2 days, and I was so hopeful, even as the 40-week mark came and went, that Leighton would be born before I hit 41 weeks. Alas, though, he chose to come at 41 + 1, the same as his older brother. I will certainly be sharing the full birth story in the coming weeks, as well, but let me assure you that each of these final weeks, and especially the days from 40-41 + 1 felt like an eternity among themselves and challenged my mind, body and emotions tremendously. I had so much pressure on my plevis by the end, was so terribly uncomfortable all around, and so exhausted, that each day I woke up still pregnant honestly was such a challenge to make it through.
But, the Lord sustained me and He also knew the perfect timing and day for Leighton to be born. This was an overall smooth, low-risk, healthy pregnancy, but also a hard one, as I think being pregnant with the added stress of the pandemic was just plain challenging – and probably all the other women who did it would agree with me. But I made it through, and I’m so grateful to have this visual journey of my growing bump, especially now that I know who was in there all along. :)
Stay tuned for birth story, nursery & family newborn session posts all to come in the near(ish) future….
