Goals | November

11/13/12

I know this is coming late this month, but it’s finally time to recap October and look at goals for November! I’m in awe of how fast this year is going by and that NOVEMBER is already almost halfway over. Christmas really is just around the corner. Insane.

October was a busy month! Which resulted in more Instagrams than other months, which really just means there was a lot of fun stuff going on. Such as my parents visiting Richmond, the Richmond Folk Festival, DIY scarf-making, Fall colors, my cousin’s baby shower,  an amazing concert (with Alanna Story & The Vespers!), new favorite pieces of jewelry, fun date nights, my last wedding of the year, visiting the brother’s snazzy workplace, progress in decorating my office & several coffee shop workdays. Just a delightfully lovely month (aside from Hurricane Sandy….but even then, we were really lucky/blessed here in Richmond to not get hit badly at all.)

Here’s a recap on October’s Goals:

PERSONAL

– Get rid of at least 30 things (clothes, etc) (In progress, but they haven’t actually left the apartment, yet…)
– Have coffee chat/girl time at least 3 times
– Write 2 letters
– Work on photobook
– Keep reading Wuthering Heights
– Read 2-3 more stories in Aimee’s book
– Finish editing photos for Dad
– DIY scarf project
– Order prints for myself & my Grandma
– Put together frame for Grandma
– Try at least one new recipe
– Start compiling Christmas gift ideas

BUSINESS

– Hang up 1-2 canvas prints in office
– Rearrange shelf/file cabinet
– Edit 3 weddings
– Submit at least 2 weddings/shoots for publication
– Finish writing my “why” & possibly blog
– Design 3 client albums
– Read at least 2 more chapters in Worth Every Penny
 – Come up with 1-2 new blog series ideas
– Order shipping boxes
– Get ideas for styled shoot finalized

Definitely not too bad, considering I was gone for about 10 days. REALLY need to get those other business things accomplished this month, though. So, here’s the list for November:

PERSONAL

– Get back to working out 3-4 times per week
– Gather and take all items that I’m getting rid of to friends/thrift store
– Decide how/if I want to do Christmas cards this year
– Work on photobook and ORDER
– Order prints for both Grandmas
– Put together frame for Grandma
– Try at least one new recipe
– HOLD OFF ON CHRISTMAS MUSIC TILL THANKSGIVING
– Decide on any DIY Christmas gift ideas & plan for them

BUSINESS

– Edit 3 weddings
– Submit at least 2 weddings/shoots for publication
– Finish writing my “why”
– Design at least 3 client albums
– Read 2 more chapters in Worth Every Penny
– Order shipping boxes
– Do styled shoot!
– Figure out tax issue with accountant
– Make blogging schedule for next month

Here’s to a productive, eventful remainder of November! I’m so excited for Thanksgiving fast approaching and the time that we’ll get with Aaron’s family. Annnd, of course, that it means I’ll get to start enjoying the Christmas season! You have no idea how hard it is to keep holding fast to my no-Christmas-music-yet rule. I have friends who are terrible influences in that area! ;) Do you wait until after Thanksgiving, or are you already enjoying the Yuletide tunes?

Happy Tuesday, friends! (P.S. Don’t forget to enter the blog give-away! It ends at midnight on Thursday….so just a couple days left!)

NOTHING keeps me away from Christmas music. Currently blasting the new Pentatonix Christmas album in my office and LOVING it!! :)

  2. Janelle says:

I literally wait until after dinner on Thanksgiving for the music (sometimes I cave and listen to Christmas music while I make Thanksgiving dinner :]), and then the Christmas decorations go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I try to be VERY stubborn about waiting… but if the radio just happens to play a Christmas song or two before hand, I won’t complain :)
