Meeting Richmond’s Own DIY Masters

11/12/12

Or, “Showing one Young couple with a seriously cool House some blogging Love” (<—- get it, get it? Young House Love. ;) I may or may not have been smitten with all of their subtitles throughout their talk on Thursday evening at R*Home For The Holidays… Which is, in fact, where I got the chance to see them speak and meet them briefly afterwards, as part of their book launching tour.

If you’ve followed their blog for any amount of time, you know that John & Sherry are brilliant bloggers who write (as it turns out) just like they talk. Full of wit and spunk! It was so much fun to put voices to their faces, and flip through their brand new book (which I’m SO excited to read from cover to cover) as they shared a few more tips about their experience in DIY home-improvement. I may not have a home of my own, yet, but I love that so many of their projects are perfectly adaptable to apartments and other rentals.

I went with my friend Ashley (who may or may not have THE biggest blog crush on them, ever ;) and it was so fun to get to hang out with her for the evening, and chat with John & Sherry together.

John & Sherry are seriously the most down to earth people and being that we live in the same city, I’m hoping even MORE after meeting them once that I’ll have a random run-in somewhere, sometime (I probably need to start frequenting Lowe’s and Home Depot, more often, though…). :) Thanks for being so awesome, guys! (If you don’t have their book, yet, do yourself a favor and gift it to yourself for Christmas! You won’t reget it.) HAPPY MONDAY, everyone!
