Wardrobe Wednesday | Fitted Skirt Maternity Style

2/04/15

When I first came across this cute maternity look a couple months ago, I definitely was skeptical that I would ever attempt the fitted-skirt or dress kind of look with my baby bump. But, admittedly, you get to a point where you WANT it to be obvious that you’re pregnant and it’s fun showing it off a little. So, when I found this non-maternity (but really stretchy) skirt on sale at Target, I thought I’d give it a try, and was surprised to actually really love the look. It’s really cute, and amazingly comfortable.

So, you’ve seen this necklace in a lot of outfits, by now, but I’ve never really talked about it or what’s on it. One side (pictured) is the corner of a cute little toy room, and the other side is a mother holding a baby. My Mom got it years ago as a gift for volunteering at a crisis pregnancy center (which she did for something like 18 years) and it’s always been a size/color that I’ve really liked. But, of course, now being pregnant I find what’s on it to be even more special and fitting for where I’m at in life. :)

Skirt: Target, $10 | Shirt: Given to me | Shoes: Plato’s Closet, $16 | Clutch: Thrifted, $3 | Necklace: Was my Mom’s | Ring: Was my Grandma’s

This look could work just as easily without the baby bump and would still be really cute with a high-waisted pencil skirt and t-shirt gathered up at the natural waist. Definitely a fun and cute look that I will be putting to use quite a bit for the remainder of this season. :)

Happy wardrobing, friends!

I think you rock the fitted skirt look even better than the woman in the inspiration picture. :)
