It’s no secret to you all that I love style and cute accessories, and what’s even better is when I can support incredible businesses and ministries WHILE adding to my wardrobe. I’m so excited to share with you about two amazing companies who are working hard to give women opportunities for dignified work after getting out of prostitution. This is no small thing, and there are so many women who want the opportunity to work for these businesses, but we need to continue to increase awareness and demand so that more jobs can be created! (And hey, if I can do my part by purchasing a stylish item now and then, I’m down!)
Elegantees is a beautiful clothing company that provides sewing jobs for women in Nepal. They have some beautiful and really unique pieces – I’ve been eying this top in particular for when I have a waist again after this pregnancy. ;) How cool to be able to wear unique items that are seriously stylish, and also so much more meaningful than purchasing from a random store or boutique.
SutiSana is a company making fabulous purses and employing women in Bolivia. I fell in love with their adorable clutches right away and wanted to support them, which brings me to today’s post! I’m absolutely loving the Tarija Clutch that I got (and have already used it several times) but I was (naturally) in love with the mustard yellow clutch, as well, and definitely felt like someone should own and love this thing! Since it didn’t seem right to keep both for myself, and hoping to be able to spread the word about these amazing companies further, I decided to do a give-away! Win/win, right?
Enter to win this gorgeous mustard yellow clutch and help spread the word! I will announce the winner on next week’s Wardrobe Wednesday post!
For everyone in the Richmond area: there’s a fashion show & awareness event coming up in just a couple weeks that will be FREE to attend and will be featuring products from both of these companies. It would be the perfect time to learn more, and pick up an item or two for yourself or a belated Mother’s Day gift! Please consider attending and helping to increase awareness of the good these companies are doing!
Here’s to fashion that matters, and women getting the opportunities they deserve all over the world. Happy Friday, friends!
I love this clutch and I love that you are supporting such a great cause! I will look into these companies! These might be some nice birthday and christmas gifts!
I love love LOVE that yellow clutch! And love the idea behind the company. One of my favorite companies is 3 Seams, which makes my favorite running headbands by employee women from Haiti, Cambodia and Nepal :) You might like some of there stuff as well!
